7 Commitments Taco Bell Is Making In 2019

New year, new goals.

2019 is here, which means New Year resolutions are being made left and right. And we decided to make some of our own this year, too. We’re giving you - our fans - more of what you want, and less of what you don’t, through our seven 2019 commitments.

1.

Make our food as craveable as ever with even simpler, higher quality ingredients.
We have now removed all artificial colors and flavors from our core menu. We’re also working to remove preservatives and additives from our food and reducing sodium across the menu. We’re also enhancing our pursuit of the highest quality ingredients. For example, in the U.S., the brand currently uses grilled all-white meat chicken, vine-ripened tomatoes, makes its guacamole only from Hass avocados and makes its pico de gallo fresh every day.

2.

Work to ensure all of our beef is sustainable.
We joined the U.S. Roundtable for Sustainable Beef (USRSB). We know, U.S. Roundtable for Sustainable Beef is a mouth full. Simply put, USRSB is a network of beef experts that are working to improve the sustainability of U.S. grown beef so that it’s better for our environment, the animals and you.

3.

Improve our recycling efforts one cup at a time.
Love the Earth? Yep, us too. Which is why we’ve recently started to use recyclable cold cups and lids in all of our restaurants. And by 2021, we’re committed to making all of our cups 100 percent recyclable.

4.

Be even easier and better for vegetarians and flexitarians.
Did you know that we have more than 8 million vegetarian combinations on our menu? That’s enough to customize a new meal every day for nearly 20,000 years. We know, it’s a lot to choose from... So to help you out, we’re going to start testing our first, dedicated vegetarian menu later this year. Oh, and there are some amazing new vegetarian menu items coming out. So be on the lookout for those, too.

5.

Not make customers choose between affordability and craveability.
Every year, we renew our commitment to making your dollar go further on our menu without sacrificing on taste, size, or quality. We have more than 20 menu items on our Value Menu - there’s seriously something for everyone. Your taste buds and bank account will thank you.

6.

Create more jobs in the U.S.
As Taco Bell grows, so do job opportunities for people in the United States. We’re hopeful that by 2022, we’ll create 100,000 new jobs in the United States.

7.

Support the Taco Bell Foundation in enabling young people to pursue their passions and dreams.
The Taco Bell Foundation doubled its funding goal this year. They’re committed to awarding $21 million in scholarships by 2021. And if you’d like to get involved, you can now “round up” your order to the nearest dollar at checkout, turning that spare change from your meal into something that feeds the educational dreams of the Live Más Scholarship winners and supports other educational programs.

Keep an eye out for updates on our blog to see how we’re progressing with our commitments in 2019.
