Food is our thing. When you think of Taco Bell you think tacos, burritos, quesadillas and your favorite Doritos chip-turned-taco. And sometimes, it’s an unapologetic midnight Fourthmeal run. That’s cool with us. We like to think our menu is permission to love food with flavor and twist. But what you may not know is that we’re making changes to our ingredients that are important to you.
These changes have not happened overnight. For more than 10 years, we’ve evolved our menu to give you more of the choices you’re asking for – everything from low calorie and high protein to vegetarian and triple doses of steak. When it comes to ingredients, we’ve realized “less is more” – that’s why we have reduced sodium across the menu and are on track with our goal to remove all artificial flavors and colors from our food, all without compromising on flavor. By the end of 2016, we’ll be serving cage-free eggs in our U.S. restaurants. We’ve always been an open book about our food – being one of the first fast food restaurants to post our ingredient statements and nutrition information online.
More choices. Nixing unnecessary ingredients. Easier access to information about our food. These aren’t just “nice to have.” What’s been clear to us over the years is that you have high expectations when it comes to your food – as you should. This journey is just getting started and there’s more to come.
