Taco Bell commemorates 60 years of food, fun and fandom with its first-ever "Live Más Music Feast-For-All” at Taco Bell Corporate Headquarters and “Live Más Day" declaration
Irvine, Calif. (June 28, 2022) - A milestone as major as a 60th anniversary deserves year-long celebrations, and Taco Bell is delivering by celebrating its heritage and committing to a flavorful future fueled by its people, its community and its food. Midway through its 60th milestone year, Taco Bell hosted a celebration at Taco Bell Headquarters on June 23, 2022 to honor the best of the brand: its people. Taco Bell employees past and present experienced the brand's first-ever “Live Más Music Feast-For-All,' a symbolic celebration that recognized the best of the Southern California brand, with even more to come for fans throughout the back half of 2022.
To commemorate the celebrations, the Orange County Board of Supervisors declared June 23 “Live Más Day” at Live Más Music Feast-For-All. Presented by Orange County Fifth District Supervisor Lisa Bartlett, the resolution highlights Taco Bell’s historic contributions to the Orange County community.
Since Taco Bell is a brand known for mega mash-ups and inspiring innovation, partners from Yeastie Boys, Milk Bar, Pablito's Tacos and Burnt Truck joined forces with the taco connoisseur to craft collab dishes inspired by flavors fans know and love. This includes a twist on the original and oh-so-famous Crunchy Taco to craft the “Everything Seasoned Crunchy Taco” in partnership with Yeastie Boys.
“I’ve continued to be inspired by the Taco Bell team since my first day on the job in August 2019, and the last few years have only deepened my appreciation for our people. Our people make our brand better, and they’re a big reason why we’re able to do all we do – and do it differently. To commemorate this milestone 60th year in the brand’s history, we’re celebrating wins both big and small, and look forward to many more years of creating experiences for our people and our fans,” said Mark King, Chief Executive Officer at Taco Bell.
What’s a music fe(a)st without music? Headline performers of the night were LP Giobbi, and Mobley, with more live entertainment from DJ Lanz and talented Live Más Scholars winners. Since 2006, Taco Bell and its Feed the Beat initiative have helped support nearly 2,000 artists and bands. This year alone, the program is investing in 200 talented artists.
While looking ahead, Taco Bell made sure to celebrate where it all began, as the beloved first-ever Taco Bell restaurant, Numero Uno, had its time in the spotlight at the Live Más Music Feast-For-All after being raised from its foundation and relocated in 2015. Gently restored with the essence of the building intact, the 400-square-foot building represents Glen Bell’s culinary vision of serving quick-service, Mexican-inspired food to the masses. What once started in Downey, CA has grown to be a global brand serving 1.1B customers across nearly 8,000 restaurants in 32 countries. Fans will be excited to know the iconic building is set to find a new home in the coming year and will remain in Southern California.
