Taco Bell® Adds Artificial Intelligence To Its Food

Introduces Tacobot - Taco Bell is the first brand to let you order food directly through Slack

IRVINE, Calif., (April 6, 2016) - Ordering Taco Bell just got easier, again. The newest innovation from Taco Bell comes in the form of TacoBot, the first food ordering tool integrated with communications tool, Slack. With TacoBot, Slack users can order select menu items from their local Taco Bell restaurant without ever leaving the messaging platform. TacoBot leverages artificial intelligence for group and single ordering through natural language – fully equipped with the sharp and witty personality you’d expect from Taco Bell.

“The TacoBot Slack integration is the latest step on our journey to make the brand more accessible wherever and whenever our fans want it,” said Lawrence Kim, Director of Digital Innovation and On Demand for Taco Bell. “Taco Bell is about food tailor-made for social consumption with friends, and that’s why integrating with a social communications platform like Slack makes perfect sense. TacoBot is the next best thing to having your own Taco Bell butler… and who wouldn’t want that??”

The TacoBot is currently in private beta with several companies, including: SAV Studios, Thought Catalog, Giphy, Fullscreen and FoodBeast. Wider rollout is anticipated in the coming months. For more information or for Slack users interested interested in joining the waiting list, check out Taco Bell’s Feed article: http://tacobell.com/feed/tacobot

TacoBot joins Taco Bell’s digital ordering ensemble that includes their Mobile Ordering and Payment App released in October of 2014 with over 5 million downloads, and most recently, desktop and mobile ordering through Taco Bell’s enhanced website ta.co.

TacoBot was created in partnership with Taco Bell’s creative partner agency, Deutsch.
